Not every urgent business problem meets the requirements for urgent court relief. David assesses the events, the evidence, the time available and what a proposed response could achieve. Depending on the circumstances, the options may include negotiation, a formal response, an application for an injunction or other procedural steps.
What the initial inquiry should tell us.
Your name and the business involved. The names of the other parties for a conflict check. The exact known date and time of the relevant event or deadline. Whether proceedings have already been started. A short non-confidential description of the immediate problem. A telephone number at which you can be reached.
How an urgent matter is considered.
Check conflicts and availability. The firm determines whether it can consider the matter within the time available.
Define the immediate work. If the firm can act, David discusses the urgent objective, information needed, proposed scope and fee arrangements.
Take the agreed steps. Work begins under the agreed engagement. Any further litigation work requires an appropriate scope and instructions.
